SAP Courses

All courses originating with the Office of International Education (OIE) and using the SAP prefix are sent through the Core Division workflow for ease of administration. Both Curriculog and the catalog are connected only to academic divisions; therefore, neither software platform recognizes OIE as an academic unit. A system administrator—generally the Curriculum Chair—is responsible for “force approving” any SAP proposals past the Division step in the workflow, since the Core Division itself does not actually have any formal oversight over curriculum proposed by the OIE. This procedure is meant to address what is otherwise a gap in the software’s capabilities with regards to Champlain’s unique curriculum process.

Travel Courses

Originators of any course to be offered in AY 2024-25 that has an embedded travel component (short- or long-term) must submit a travel course proposal form to their divisional operations manager by January 7, 2024, for review at the January 2024 division meeting. This deadline is firm.

Please consult the Office of International Education (OIE) as you prepare and refer to their guidelines.

Divisional approval does not guarantee that your trip will be able to run as proposed. There are additional steps to be completed with OIE once your proposal has received divisional approval, including consideration of how many trips are proposed across all divisions in a given semester, risk assessment and financial review.
